Shannon Burns at Birdsong Quilting approached me requesting new artwork to cover up a preexisting mural from another artist. She was hoping for something that highlighted her passion for both gardening and quilting. When originally painted, Shannon did not feel at all satisfied with the outcome of the flowers, specifically, and wanted the whole thing to be more vibrant and noticeable.
So, I completely covered up and extended the original flowers, replacing the dull colors with bright, eye-catching shades of blue, yellow, and purple. The preexisting quilt was a friendship quilt. 30 different words that encompass the meaning of friendship were added. A new photo spot on Main Street was created, bringing more attention to Birdsong Quilting!
